ANNOUNCEMENTS – MONDAY, MARCH 10, 2008 – “F” DAY

 

ALL:  Tuesday, March 11 will be an Extended Homeroom Order.

 

JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES:  Studio Art:  Painting is an option for next year.  It was not listed on your course form.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Reidy today.

 

FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, and JUNIORS:  Students who live in LIVINGSTON, MADISON, MAPLEWOOD, MAYWOOD, MILLBURN, MONTCLAIR, MOONACHIE, MORRIS TOWNSHIP, MOUNTAINSIDE, NEWARK, NORTH CALDWELL should pick up their forms for next year today in B-220 any time after 2:30 p.m. but no later than 8:10 a.m. tomorrow morning. Failure to comply may result in your parents not being reimbursed next year.

 

ALL:  Super Smash Bros. N64:  Super Smash Bros Tournament for the Nintendo 64 will be held on Tuesday. Admission fee is $3 per person and 50% of the proceeds go to the winner’s homeroom. Sign up with Mrs. Annetta in H-303.

 

ALL:  Last 2 days to win an IPOD.  The Computer Club is selling raffle tickets to win an IPOD NANO (with video) in black.  The drawing is on Wednesday, March 12.  $1 purchases 1 ticket, $2 purchases 3 tickets, and $5 gets you 7 tickets.  See Dan Tomassi, Les Constantine and/or Mrs. Glazer to purchase tickets.

 

FINANCIAL AID:  Financial Aid applications for the 2008-2009 school year are currently available in the Financial Aid Office and the Finance Office.  The deadline is March 17, 2008.  Anyone interested in applying along with all work study students must pick up an application as soon as possible.

 

SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR INNER-CITY CHILDREN:  The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children (SFIC) applications for the 2008–2009 are currently available in the Financial Aid Office and the Finance Office.  The deadline is April 22, 2008.  Anyone interested in applying along with all work study students must pick up an application as soon as possible.

 

JESUIT IDOL:  Jesuit Idol auditions will be shown today during lunch periods 5A & 5B in the cafeteria.  Final round to follow at 3:00 p.m.

 

STAR WARS CLUB:  Join the Start Wars Club!  Battle Front II Tournament on Thursday in E-205.  Entry fee is $5.  All proceeds go to winner’s homeroom mission total.  See seniors Casey Perno or Vincenzo Averello for more info.  We will meet in E-205.

 

MODEL UN:  Last meting before SHUMUN conference today at 3:00 p.m. in H-301.  See Mr. Cunneen if you have not gotten your committee yet.

 

MEDICAL CLUB:  Medical club members will meet today in H-103 promptly at 3:00 p.m.  All those attending the trip to see the surgery is a must attend.

 

WHITE CASTLE BURGERS: On Tuesday, “A” Day, during lunch 5A & 5B in B-217.  (Burgers, drinks and more).

 

RUGBYThere is a mandatory meeting on Tuesday at 3:05 p.m.  All players must attend in order to be a member of the team.  If you cannot make it, you must see Mr. Fletcher personally on Monday during 8th period.  No exceptions.

 

JUNIOR PROM REPS: Homeroom 3A & the Band Homeroom are the only two with all students paid in full for the prom. All other homeroom reps see me if you are not sure who still owes a payment. If it’s not paid by today, they are out!

 

FRESHMEN:  Art Day lists are posted on the bulletin board in Mulry Lobby.  Check where you are going.  Ask History teacher for time.

 

MR. HURD’S LATIN 1:  Mr. Hurd's Latin I students must bring their red books and vocabulary packets to class today.

 

REMINDER:  You must be in dress code to enter the café.  Go to your lockers first.  iPods and cell phones are not permitted in the café.

 

NEWSPAPER:  There will be a writing meeting on Tuesday for the April issues.  All writers must attend.  Bring ideas.  Meet at 2nd floor Mulry computer lab.

 

WIFFLE BALL WORLD SERIES:  Roster forms for this year’s mission drive wiffle ball tournaments are available I the principal’s office or on the freshman for a Day room door.

 

SOPHOMORE GROUP:  Sophomore group meets on Tuesday in Fr. Mullin’s office during period 5B lunch.

 

Band Members:  Remember the woodwind sectional at lunch today and full rehearsals tomorrow.

 

Italian I:  A reminder to bring in a pencil to class today for the National Italian Examination Contest.

 

ALL STUDENTS:  If you have any of the following teachers during Period 6 or 7 today, please note that the class will not meet: Mr. Alcoser, Ms. Angermeyer, Mr. Distinti, Mr. Evans, Mr. Giordano, Ms. Groark, Mr. Grusenski, Mr. Hurd, Ms. Hwang, and Ms. Stark.  You are responsible for the class assignments posted in Mulry Lobby.

 

MS. MCNALLY’S 7TH PER ENGLISH 4:  Will not meet.  Assignment:  Read King Lear, Acts II and III for Tuesday.  Answer the following questions in your notebooks:  1. Do you have any sympathy for Lear?  Why or why not?  EXPLAIN.  2.  Discuss the role of pride in the story.  EXPLAIN.

 

MR. COLLINS’ CLASS:  Will not meet. Study for upcoming test/quiz.

 

MS. BLEASDALE’S 7TH PER REL ED 3:  Class will not meet.  Read pp. 80-90 in your anthology and make a glossary of unknown terms/phrases in notebook.

 

MS. HWANG’S BIO SECTON 7:  Please come to the office to pick up Study Guide for tomorrow’s test.  Today’s class will not meet.
