ANNOUNCEMENTS – TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 2008 – “A” DAY – EXTENDED HOMEROOM ORDER

 

All:  Anyone who is signed up for the Parent-Son day of service, please meet Mr. Sekel in the chapel at 3:00 today for a brief meeting.

 

Sophomores:  Anyone going on an immersion trip this summer must see Mr. Sekel for a service trip packet. 

 

Juniors:  Students going to New Orleans must see Mr. Sekel today.  

 

FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES, and JUNIORS:  Students who live in NORTH BERGEN, PARAMUS, PATERSON, PINE BROOK, POMPTON PLAINS (PEQUANNACK), RAHWAY, ROSELAND, SADDLE BROOK, SECAUCUS, SHORT HILLS, SOUTH ORANGE, SPRINGFIELD, and TEANECK should pick up their forms for next year today in B220 any time after 2:30 p.m. but no later than 8:10 a.m. tomorrow morning. Failure to comply may result in your parents not being reimbursed next year.

 

JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES:  Studio Art:  Painting is an option for next year.  It was not listed on your course form.  If you are interested, please see Mr. Reidy today.

 

ALL:  Super Smash Bros. N64:  Super Smash Bros Tournament for the Nintendo 64 will be held today. Admission fee is $3 per person and 50% of the proceeds go to the winner’s homeroom. Sign up with Mrs. Annetta in H-303.

 

ALL:  Last day to win an iPOD.  The Computer Club is selling raffle tickets to win an IPOD NANO (with video) in black.  The drawing is on Wednesday, March 12.  $1 purchases 1 ticket, $2 purchases 3 tickets, and $5 gets you 7 tickets.  See Dan Tomassi, Les Constantine and/or Mrs. Glazer to purchase tickets.

 

FINANCIAL AID:  Financial Aid applications for the 2008-2009 school year are currently available in the Financial Aid Office and the Finance Office.  The deadline is March 17, 2008.  Anyone interested in applying along with all work study students must pick up an application as soon as possible.

 

SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR INNER-CITY CHILDREN:  The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children (SFIC) applications for the 2008–2009 are currently available in the Financial Aid Office and the Finance Office.  The deadline is April 22, 2008.  Anyone interested in applying along with all work study students must pick up an application as soon as possible.

 

STAR WARS CLUB:  Join the Start Wars Club!  Battle Front II Tournament on Thursday in E-205.  Entry fee is $5.  All proceeds go to winner’s homeroom mission total.  See seniors Casey Perno or Vincenzo Averello for more info.  We will meet in E-205.

 

MODEL UN:  Last meting before SHUMUN conference today at 3:00 p.m. in H-301.  See Mr. Cunneen if you have not gotten your committee yet.

 

RUGBYThere is a mandatory meeting today at 3:05 p.m.  All players must attend in order to be a member of the team.  If you cannot make it, you must see Mr. Fletcher personally on Monday during 8th period.  No exceptions.

 

FRESHMEN:  Art Day lists are posted on the bulletin board in Mulry Lobby.  Check where you are going.  Ask History teacher for time.

 

NEWSPAPER:  There will be a writing meeting today for the April issues.  All writers must attend.  Bring ideas.  Meet at 2nd floor Mulry computer lab.

 

WIFFLE BALL WORLD SERIES:  Roster forms for this year’s mission drive wiffle ball tournaments are available in the principal’s office or on the freshman for a day room door.

 

SOPHOMORE GROUP:  Sophomore group meets today in Fr. Mullin’s office during period 5B lunch.

 

SENIORS:  Seniors in Fr. Hoag’s English classes should report directly to the Mulry computer room.

 

FOOTBALL:  All players are reminded to wear shirts and ties to Friday’s dinner.  Make sure to stop by Coach Hansen’s office to check your reservation #.  Dinner starts at 6:00 p.m. sharp.

 

ALL:  Mr. Williams says, “Don’t miss out on your chance to taste heaven.  Join in the raffle for your pan of yummy goodness.  The flavor is your choice.  There will be 5 winners!!  Five dollars ($5) for one ticket, $8 for two, $9 for three.  Enter in b-213 and see Mr. Williams.

 

HISPANIC SOCIETY MEETING TODAY:  Come to E-403 at 3:00 p.m. today.  Let’s plan out spring events!

Jug for missing course selections:  Jug starts today for the 24 underclassmen who have not submitted their course selection form for next year.  The student list is posted on the main bulletin board.  See Mr. Reidy if you have any questions.

 

ELIBIBILITY CYCLE 3:  Affected students who wish to participate in a major extracurricular need to renew their eligibility by Thursday afternoon.  See Mr. Reidy to get the proper form.

 

JUNIORS & SENIORS:  A reminder to all that homeroom will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  Dismissal will be before Noon.

 

UKRAINIAN CLUB:  The Ukrainian Club will meet today inE-304 at 3:00 p.m.

 

WHITE CASTLE BURGERS:  White Castle burgers and chicken wing sandwiches today during lunch 5A & 5B in B-217 for the missions.

 

ENGINEERING CLUB:  Meeting today at 3:05 p.m. in M-302.

 

VARSITY MATH TEAM:  Please come for the last meeting of the year today during period 5A.  The last round will be on Thursday, March 13.  You can take the test either during lunch period 5A or after school at 3:00 p.m.

 

JESUIT IDOL:  Congrats to Rashad Davis of HR 3C for winning Jesuit Idol yesterday.

 

OUTREACH:  Meeting today at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel.  We will be making Easter baskets for children at the Nurturing Place.
