ANNOUNCEMENTS – TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 2008 – “E” DAY

 

ALL STUDENTS:  Confirmation letters for the Mother-Son Dinner Dance were handed out in homeroom folders yesterday.  If you were absent, please check your homeroom folder and make sure you take this home.  Also, last call for the Mother-Son Dinner Dance.  All returns must be in by Wednesday, March 19th.  Please see Mrs. Gualario in the main office.  Thank you.

 

Mr. DANDORPH’S GEOMETRY CLASSES:  Be sure to bring books to class today

 

STUDENTS WHO LIVE IN CHATHAM: See Mr. Dandorph today in B220 to pick up Transportation Reimbursement forms for next year.

 

SUPER SMASH BROTHERS BRAWL:  Come play Super Smash Brothers Brawl!  A tournament will be held today in H-303 at 3:00 p.m.  Tournament fee is $3 and 30% of proceeds will go to the winner’s homeroom.  Sign up with Ms. Annetta or junior, John Paul Montemayor.  There are only 32 spots available.

 

Academic Bowl:  Practice today in B-313.  Upcoming contests:  April 12th in Colonia; April 23rd computer-based event here at Prep; May 17th at Chatham. 

 

JUNIOR RINGS:  The manufacturer of our rings, John Zolnier, will be here at lunch on Wednesday, March 19, to accept any rings that need any adjustments at all.  This will be his only visit so please bring in your rings that day.  He will be set up in the cafeteria.

 

OPERA TRIP:  Saturday, April 5 – afternoon performance of Tosca.  Price is $25 plus PATH train.  See Mr. Dwyer in E-201 if interested by Tuesday, March 18.

 

ALL:  Congratulations to Dan Librojo for winning Outstanding Delegate on National Security Council and Brendan White for the Chinese Politburo at this weekends Seton Hall Model UN Conference.  Attendees included Dave Perez, Jordan Jafferjee, Lawrence Bovich, and Louis DiPaola, Vincent Averello, Tyler Schaefer, George Aquila, Luca Taite, and Shyam Majmundar.

 

All: GOOD FRIDAY WALK - Continue the tradition to walk the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. The stations begin at the UN in NYC.  Meet at Prep at 7:30 a.m. on FRIDAY. All welcome. Consult the fliers around school.

 

ALL: Congratulations to Sophomore Matt Mazzari who finished 5th at this weekend’s forensics tournament.

 

MARCH MADNESS BRACKET CHALLENGE:  Tomorrow is the last day to sign up with Mr. Evans in his office beyond the switchboard, junior, Swetal Patel, or senior, Peter LeBron.  Cost is $2; all money will be awarded to next year’s Walkathon (no seniors).  Brackets are now available on the FSC bulletin board outside Mr. Evans’ office.  All brackets must be completed and returned to the adjacent folder by 3:30 tomorrow.

FANTASY BASEBALL DRAFT MEETING:  A meeting will be held in H-103 at 3:15 p.m. today to determine a draft date and time.  All questions will be answered.  Anyone who is interested and has not yet signed up may do so tomorrow.

Studio Art:  Painting:  This course was left off the course selection forms by mistake.  Current juniors and sophomores who are interested in this course should see Mr. Reidy to sign up for it.
