ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2008 – “F” DAY – ASSEMBLY ORDER SCHEDULE

 

ALL STUDENTS:  Confirmation letters for the Mother-Son Dinner Dance were handed out in homeroom folders yesterday.  If you were absent or handed in your payment yesterday, please check your homeroom folder today and make sure you take this letter home.  Also, last call for the Mother-Son Dinner Dance.  All returns must be in by today.  Please see Mrs. Gualario in the main office.  Thank you.

 

JUNIOR RINGS:  The manufacturer of our rings, John Zolnier, will be here at lunch on Wednesday, March 19, to accept any rings that need any adjustments at all.  This will be his only visit so please bring in your rings that day.  He will be set up in the cafeteria.

 

ALL:  Congratulations to Dan Librojo for winning Outstanding Delegate on National Security Council and Brendan White for the Chinese Politburo at this weekend Seton Hall Model UN Conference.  Attendees included Dave Perez, Jordan Jafferjee, Lawrence Bovich, and Louis DiPaola, Vincent Averello, Tyler Schaefer, George Aquila, Luca Taite, and Shyam Majmundar.

 

All: GOOD FRIDAY WALK - Continue the tradition to walk the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday. The stations begin at the UN in NYC.  Meet at Prep at 7:30 a.m. on FRIDAY. All welcome. Consult the fliers around school.

 

MARCH MADNESS BRACKET CHALLENGE:  Today is the last day to sign up with Mr. Evans in his office beyond the switchboard, junior, Swetal Patel, or senior, Peter LeBron.  Cost is $2; all money will be awarded to next year’s Walkathon (no seniors).  Brackets are now available on the FSC bulletin board outside Mr. Evans’ office.  All brackets must be completed and returned to the adjacent folder by 3:30 tomorrow.

 

ALL:  $300 Mission Drive dollars are “up for grabs.”  Does your homeroom need $300+ to earn dress down?  Enter the big giveaway.  Prize awarded to homeroom only.  See Mrs. Glazer, Les Constantine, or Dan Tomassi to purchase tickets.  $1 for one ticket.  $5 purchases 8 tickets!!!

 

SENIORS:  Your final prom payment is due by April 1st.  See Mrs. Martineau with any problems.

Seniors:  OLC is looking for two seniors to work for 12 hours each in the rectory doing data entry.  There is a stipend available for your work.  If anyone is interested, please EMAIL Mr. Sekel at sekele@spprep.org.

 

WIFFLE BALL:  Last call for rosters.  Games will begin shortly after we return from Easter break.

 

MEDICAL CLUB:  Members of the Medical Club and those going to the Liberty Science Center should bring permission slips in ASAP. Pick one up at Ms. Suarez’s room if you need one.

 

INDO-PAK SOCIETY:  Join us when we play Karom, featured in Munna Bhai mbbs, in H-201 at 3:00 p.m.  Following Karom we will have dinner at Rasoi Restaurant on Newark Avenue in Jersey City.  We will be celebrating Holi, the festival of color.

 

ENGINEER CLUB:  Meeting today at 3:00 p.m. in M-302.

 

ALL:  Today is the Feast of St. Joseph.  Happy Birthday on Thursday, 3/20 to Mr. Ryan Heffernan.

 

ALL:  Congratulations to homeroom 4G and Dat Nguyen for winning the Smash Brothers Brawl tournament held yesterday. 

 

All Band Members:  Remember that we will be holding a full required rehearsal on Tuesday, March 25 at 11:00am.

MS. BLEASDALE’S 7TH PER REL 3:  Will not meet.  Assignment: On a sheet of loose leaf, write a reflection on the Crucifixion images you saw in class yesterday.  What was socially unjust about the crucifixion of Jesus?  Turn in before 3:00 PM to the Main Office.

 

MS. MCNALLY’S 7TH PER ENG 4:  Will not meet.

 

MR. MUIR’S 7TH PER LATIN I:  Will not meet.  Work on assignment previously given.  Mr. Muir’s other classes will meet.
