ANNOUNCEMENTS – MONDAY, APRIL 7, 2008 – “E” DAY

 

MOTHER-SON DINNER DANCE:  Gentlemen:  The dinner dance is next Friday, April 11.  All students attending should pickup paper and envelope on the counter in the main office and write your letter to your mom.  Put your mom’s name on the envelope and your name in the upper left corner along with your homeroom.  Please deposit your written letters in the box in the main office.  Please do not forget – the moms love this little gesture.  Thank you.

 

CHORUS REHEARSAL:  There will be no chorus rehearsal today.

 

BLOOD DRIVE:  We have ten volunteer donors so far… Prep’s goal is 70!  Please invite your family and friends.  The Blood Drive is scheduled for Tuesday, April 22 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the library.  You must be 17 years old.  Prep policy requires a parental consent form in order for student to donate.  Please see Mrs. Schneider.  Thank you.

 

MARAUDER NATION:  Juniors will meet today during 5B with Fr. Hoag, S.J. in E-402.

 

LITERAMA:  The deadline has been extended to Friday, April 11.  Submit to Mr. Muir in H-202 or to junior, David Sambade.

 

Freshmen: Christian service orientation period has been rescheduled for today at 3:00 in the chapel.

 

HISTORY CLUB:  We will meet today at 3:00 p.m. in H-301.

 

SENIORS:  Today is the last day for prom payments.  If you do not pay, I will assume you are not going.  See me with any problems.

 

CAMPUS SHOP:  These school rings are in:  John Hederman, Justin Guerra-Surreal, Joshua Zarichnyj, Brian Zappulla, Lowell Tanyag, Michael Ricigliano, and Robert Avallone.  Please come to the campus hop to pick up your ring.  Thank you.

 

SOPHOMORES:  Group meets in Fr. Mullin’s office on Tuesday during 5B.

 

SENIORS:  You must start updating Naviance with the decisions you have received from each school.  Also, let the schools that accepted or wait listed you know if you decide not to attend.  This frees a spot for someone else!

 

HAP TUTORS:  Anyone interested in tutoring HAP this summer must complete and return the Tutor Information Form.  Forms are available outside the Freshman for a Day room and in Mr. Irvine’s office.

 

MS. ANGERMEYER’S 7TH PER ENG 1:  Will not meet.  Assignment:  Complete The Kite Runner reading questions, chapters 6 and 7.  If you’ve finished, then continue reading.

 

MS. ROWAN’S GROUP GUIDANCE:  Will not meet today.

 

MS. SIMON’S CLASSES:  Spanish 1 will not meet.  All other classes will meet.  Spanish 2 Green: Remember to bring permission slips to Ms. Simon tomorrow morning.  They will not be accepted after recess!!

 

MS. MCNALLY’S ENGLISH 3:  Will not meet.  Assignment: JUNIORS: Read pp. 268-280 in The Return of the Native.  Summarize the events of the pages and tell which character controlled the action the most, and how.  Also, please reveal what you learned about Eustacia from these events, in detail with examples.  Due tomorrow on looseleaf, with assignments originally due today

 

SENIORS:  Compare the character of Lear to Amir from The Kite Runner.  Include in your comparison the effects his actions have on others, the comparisons between the unrest within their countries, their suffering and their redemptions, if any.  One and a half pages, details, with specific examples, typed, DUE TOMORROW.  Bring King Lear to class tomorrow.

 

MR. NUÑEZ’ CLASSES:  Will not meet.  Continue working on your paragraphs.  Be prepared for a quiz.

 

Ineligible:  Students with two or more failures for MP 3 are ineligible as of today for sports and other major extracurriculars.  Students wishing to be secure eligibility by next Monday, April 14 should give their name to Mr. Reidy.

 

After-Prep Program:  This program will resume on Wednesday, April 9 for those underclassmen who performed poorly for MP 3.
