ANNOUNCEMENTS – FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 2008 – “C” DAY

 

MOTHER-SON DINNER DANCE:  Gentlemen:  The dinner dance is TOMORROW!  All students attending should pickup paper and envelope on the counter in the main office and write your letter to your mom.  Put your mom’s name on the envelope and your name in the upper left corner along with your homeroom.  Please deposit your written letters in the box in the main office no later than 2:30 TODAY.   Please do not forget – the moms love this little gesture.  Thank you.

 

LITERAMA:  The deadline has been extended to today.  Submit to Mr. Muir in H-202 or to junior, David Sambade.

 

CAMPUS SHOP:  These school rings are in:  John Hederman, Justin Guerra-Surreal, Joshua Zarichnyj, Brian Zappulla, Lowell Tanyag, Michael Ricigliano, and Robert Avallone.  Please come to the campus hop to pick up your ring.  Thank you.

 

SENIORS:  You must start updating Naviance with the decisions you have received from each school.  Also, let the schools that accepted or wait listed you know if you decide not to attend.  This frees a spot for someone else!

 

HAP TUTORS:  Anyone interested in tutoring HAP this summer must complete and return the Tutor Information Form.  Forms are available outside the Freshman for a Day room and in Mr. Irvine’s office.

 

JUNIORS:  If you would like an extra prom invitation see me.  I have a few so it will be first come, first serve.

 

HISTORY BEE!:  Thursday, April 17, at 3:00 p.m. in H-301.  All students are welcome to compete answering questions in American History.

 

All:  Congratulations to Junior Brendan Canale on achieving Eagle Scout last Sunday.

 

ALL:  Today is the last day to sign up for the NBA playoffs Bracket Challenge.  Cost is $2.  All prize money will be awarded to next year’s Walkathon efforts (no seniors).  Sign up with Mr. Evans in his office beyond the switchboard or see junior, Swetal Patel or freshman, Will Ryan.

ALL:  Student volunteers are needed for The Spring Open House on Sunday, April 20 from 2:00 – 4:00.  Please sign up in the principal’s office.

 

Academic Bowl:  Practices are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in B313.  Upcoming events:  Wednesday, 4/23 – Knowledge Master Open:  computer-based competition - room to be announced.  Saturday. 5/17 – final competition of the year at Chatham HS.  Information available about Academic Bowl camp which runs 7/20 through 7/24 at Mt. St. Mary’s in Emmetsburg.  All the national championship teams attend these programs – let’s build the Prep programs! See Ms. Panzera.

Pick up reinstatement forms: Students who filed for eligibility should pick up their forms in Mr. Reidy’s office today.

MS. ANNETTA’S MORNING CLASSES:  Will not meet.  Assignment already given:  Read textbook pp. 707-711.  Outline the text, and then answer questions 1-8 in the content review.  Submit to Turnitin by the end of the school day.

 

MR. GALANO’S MORNING CLASSES:  Will not meet.  Assignments:  Freshmen:  Read pp. 72-73 in Path Through Scripture, answer questions on p. 73 under “Era of Kings” (3 questions).  Sophomores:  Read pp. 114-125 in Perkins, answer questions 1 through 3.  All assignments due in E-205 during 8th period today!
