ANNOUNCEMENTS – TUESDAY, APRIL 15, 2008 – “E” DAY

 

HOMEROOM TEACHERS:  Please distribute the State Textbook Agreement Forms that are in homeroom folders today.  They are due back on Wednesday morning during homeroom.

 

HISTORY BEE!:  Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in H-301.  All students are welcome to compete answering questions in American History.

 

CAMPUS SHOP:  cLEARANCE sALE!!  Several items $10, more than 50% off!  Limited amount, please stop in.

 

PETROC:  There will be an assignment meeting today at 3:00 p.m. in E-205.  All writers are required to attend, as only those who are present or have spoken with Ms. McElroy, Mr. Galano, Dan Librojo, or Louis Sullivan will be allowed to write for this issue.

 

Academic Bowl:  Practices are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in B-313.  Upcoming events:  Wednesday, 4/23 – Knowledge Master Open:  computer-based competition - room to be announced.  Saturday, 5/17 – final competition of the year at Chatham HS.  Information available about Academic Bowl camp which runs 7/20 through 7/24 at Mt. St. Mary’s in Emmetsburg.  All the national championship teams attend these programs – let’s build the Prep programs! See Ms. Panzera.

 

SOPHOMORES:  Group guidance will meet during lunch 5B today in Fr. Mullin’s office.

 

ALL:  Student volunteers are needed for The Spring Open House on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Please sign up in the principal’s office.

 

All:  Pictures from the Mother-Son Dance are posted on the board on first floor and also second floor. Duplicates will be in your homeroom folder.  Please do not remove pictures from the board - just ask and they will be given to you.

 

All:  Today the Volleyball team hosts Bayonne here at 4:30 p.m. for first place.

 

JUG -- No senior can participate in the graduation ceremony if any JUGs are outstanding on May 30, 2008.  No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008.  Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities. 

 

DEAN'S ADVISORY BOARD -- Selected Student Council members from each year level with meet with the Dean of Students, their Class Advisors, and faculty/guidance representatives to being process of examining/revising Prep's discipline policies/regulations for academic year 2008-2009.  The Board's first session will begin promptly at 3:15pm on Tuesday, April 15, in room H-105.

 

DRESS CODE -- We are still in full dress code.  When (or if) students move to spring dress code is dependent on how well full dress code is followed and upheld during the next weeks.

 

All: Anyone interested in helping out with Earth Day at Liberty State Park this Saturday, April 19, should see Mr. Sekel ASAP

 

Stock Market Club for Seniors:  Meeting Thursday April 17, 2008, after school in the Link Lab.

 

Computer Club:  Meeting Tuesday 4/15/08, after school in the Link Lab.

 

CAMPUS SHOP:  Rep for Zolnier Rings will be in the café this Friday during lunch.  Any concerns about your ring please see them this Friday.  Thank you.

 

CELTIC CLUB:  Celtic Club t-shirts available for $10 in E-204.  Get the last ones.

 

Freshmen:  All students who have not completed their Christian Service must come to the last Orientation class at 3:00 on Thursday in the chapel.

 

RUGBY:  Today’s Rugby practice is for juniors and seniors only.  Full practice on Thursday with three games on Friday.

 

Brass Students:  Remember lessons today with Mr. Ferrone

 

Band Members:  A brass sectional will be held today during lunch.

 

Music Synthesis Class:  Sixth period class with Mr. Caslowitz is canceled today.  

 

Freshmen & Sophomores:  Your list of approved courses was mailed last Friday to your home.  If you have any questions, please see your counselor as soon as possible. 

 

Juniors:  Your list of approved courses will be mailed by this morning.

 

Reconsideration forms:  Students rejected for an honors or AP course can pick up a blue form in the main office.  Deadline for returning completed forms is Wednesday, April 23.

 

MR. KEATING’S 7TH PER WORLD CIV:  Will not meet.  Assignment: The Indo Europeans, pp. 58-61.  Do section assessment individually.  Quiz tomorrow.

 

MR. LOCRICCHIO’S STUDENTS:  First, second and sixth periods will not meet.  Third and fourth periods will meet as usual.
