ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, APRIL 23, 2008 – “E” DAY

 

ALL:  Thanks to all who took part in yesterday’s Blood Drive.  The Prep community donated 84 pints of blood – the highest number in years.

 

JUG -- No senior can participate in the graduation ceremony if any JUGs are outstanding on May 30, 2008.  No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008.  Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities. 

 

All:  There will be a welcome home thanksgiving Mass for Billy Bludgus who was an International volunteer for almost three years in Tanzania. Mass will be at Our Lady Star of the Sea on Sunday, May 4 at 12 Noon. Reception will follow. All are invited.

 

ENGINEERING:  Engineering club meeting today at 3:00 p.m. in M-302.

 

Juniors: Congratulations on Junior Prom. Some pictures are posted on the board on the lst floor. Duplicates should be in folder today or tomorrow. Please do NOT remove any pictures.  They will be available next week. Thank you.

 

SOCCER PLAYERS:  There will be a brief meeting with Coach Jantas today at 2:50 p.m. in H-201.

 

All: Approximately 80 underclassmen still owe textbook forms.  If you haven’t returned one, see Mr. Peters in H-101 some time today.  Blank forms are available in the Main Office.  Signed forms can be drooped off in the Main Office as well.

 

ALL:  Sign ups for Ultimate Frisbee Club will take place in the courtyard at 3:00 p.m. today.  If you cannot make it, please see Mr. Lazorwitz or senior, Mark Zaleski.

 

SOPHOMORES:  Group meets today in Fr. Mullin’s office during period 5B.

 

Brass Students:  Remember lessons today with Mr. Ferrone.

 

All German Students: Due to the Blood Drive and library closure all students must enter through the Grand Street entrance to Mr. Grusenski's room.  Plan accordingly.

EMMAUS 239: Will depart on Saturday morning.  Materials may be submitted at the switchboard.

 

ALL: There is a job opening in Hoboken posted on the College placement Board. See Mrs. Martineau with questions.

 

ALL: Ms. Rowan’s Group Guidance class will not meet today.

 

SOPHOMORE’S AND JUNIOR’S: Any student who would like to host a Chinese student from the People’s Republic of China, please see Mrs. McElroy in E-204.

 

INDO-PAK SOCIETY: Meeting has been rescheduled for today at 3 PM in H-201. We’re planning a big party!

 

ID PICTURES:  On Wednesday, April 30, sophomores and freshmen will be called down alphabetically to the Study Hall for ID pictures.  Students will miss 10 or 15 minutes of class when called.  Study Hall will be cancelled on that day.

 

Percussion Students:  Remember lessons today with Mr. Gleich

 

Outreach:  Meeting to plan the end of the year bash.  Meet in the chapel at 3:00

 

Rugby: All rugby players should check the selections list for this weekends match outside Mr. Fletcher room (B215).

 

JUNIORS:  Thanks to those of you who participated in the US Law lottery.

However, there are a few who did not stop by this week.  The list of students who still need to see Mr. Reidy today will be posted on the main bulletin board.  Please see Mr. Reidy during lunch periods today.

 

Today, Wednesday, April 23 is a triple deadline for (1) filing for honors and AP reconsideration; (2) filing a new application for an honors or AP; and (3) filing for changing a course without paying a $20 fee.

 

MR. KOSZYK’S 7TH PER ENGLISH 1HNRS:  Will not meet.  You are responsible for the following ASSIGNMENT:  Review your outline, making sure you have a strong thesis statement, and that you properly cite your quotes.  Write an opening paragraph for your paper.

 

MR. EVANS’ CLASSES:  Will not meet, no assignments.

                                         

Academic Bowl:  The semi-annual Knowledge Master Open takes place today at in the Link Lab (the 3rd floor of Burke) starting at 3:15 p.m.  All team members or prospective members are welcome - especially seniors and juniors! Help us improve Prep's national standing!  Join us today - refreshments will be served.
