ANNOUNCEMENTS – MONDAY, APRIL 28, 2008 – “F” DAY

 

MOTHER-SON DINNER DANCE PHOTOS:  Mother-Son Dinner Dance photos are in homeroom folders today.  Please let Mrs. Gualario know if you did not receive your photos.  Thank you.

 

JUG -- No senior can participate in the graduation ceremony if any JUGs are outstanding on May 30, 2008.  No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008.  Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities. 

 

All:  There will be a welcome home thanksgiving Mass for Billy Bludgus who was an International volunteer for almost three years in Tanzania. Mass will be at Our Lady Star of the Sea this Sunday, May 4 at 12 Noon. Reception will follow. All are invited.

 

ALL: There is a job opening in Hoboken posted on the College placement Board. See Mrs. Martineau with questions.

 

SOPHOMORE’S AND JUNIOR’S: Any student who would like to host a Chinese student from the People’s Republic of China, please see Mrs. McElroy in E-204.

 

ID PICTURES:  On Wednesday, sophomores and freshmen will be called down alphabetically to the Study Hall for ID pictures.  Students will miss 10 or 15 minutes of class when called.  Study Hall will be cancelled on that day.

 

SENIORS:  A list of which towns’ group newspaper photos will be taken on which days this week is available on the Prep website under Student Life > Senior Year and Graduation.  Please check the list and be sure to be present for the appropriate photos.  There will NOT be re-shoots for seniors who miss their photos.

 

Many of you still need to see Mrs. Martineau regarding your college application information.  If you do not, no graduation invitations will be issued.

 

DANCE COMMITTEE:  We will meet on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in M-311.  Be there.  We cannot do the dance without you.

 

DANCE:  WOW!  This Friday we will have a dance from 6:45 – 9:45 p.m.  We will have a new DJ. Bring ID and $8.

 

Congratulations to Prep's Musicians:  At the Heritage National Music Festival held in Boston this past weekend Prep's Concert Band and Chorus earned a bronze medal and Prep's Jazz Band earned 2nd place. The festival included 41 ensembles from schools all over the United States and Canada. 

 

SENIORS: Senior newspaper photos begin Tuesday with group pictures for seniors from Jersey City, Bayonne, Hoboken, North Bergen, Union City and Weehawken. Please come to the library at the start of Period 5A to avoid missing your group photo. Students should be in regular (i.e. "winter") dress code for their newspaper group photos.

 

Mr. Oryshkevych’s US 1:  Please bring textbook and/or AP book to class today.

 

HISTORY CLUB:  We will meet today at 3:00 p.m. in H-301.

  

Eligibility:  The first eligibility cycle ends tonight.  Students seeking to renew their eligibility should see Mr. Reidy today to pick up form for EC 2.          

 

ALL:  Please read the Club photo schedule for yearbook.  All club pictures will be taken on the Grand Street steps of Mulry/Hogan.  In case of rain, report to Ms. Stark’s room, H-203.  Moderators are welcome to be in the pictures, but not mandatory.  If your club cannot make the specified time, as a group you can come to any of the other photo sessions.

 

ALL:  Organizational meeting for all students interested in running for student council on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in H-201.

 

STUDENT COUNCIL:  Student Council meeting on Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. for current members.

 

MR. HEALY’S 7TH PER  GEOMETRY:  Will not meet.  ASSIGNMENT:  pp. 695-696: #17, 23, 25, 27, 28

 

MR. HURD’S LATIN 2 HNRS AND GREEK 1:  Will not meet, assignments previously given.

 

MR. ORYSHKEVYCH’S US HISTORY 2:  Will not meet, assignment previously given.

 

MR. MUIR’S 5TH PER AP STATS:  Class will not meet.  ASSIGNMENT:  Study for Chapters 10-14 exam, which will take place tomorrow and Wednesday (total time 80 minutes).  Work on final project, due Monday, May 12.

 

MS. GARCIA’S 3RD PER SPANISH 3 HNRS:  Will not meet.  Use the time to finish your projects in the Library.

 

MS. HWANG’S CLASSES:  Will not meet, no assignments.

 

MR. NUÑEZ’S CLASSES:  Will not meet.  Sign in and pick up assignment in Principal’s Office.  It will be collected and graded tomorrow.
