ANNOUNCEMENTS – TUESDAY, APRIL 29, 2008 – “A” DAY
JUG -- No senior can participate in the graduation ceremony if any JUGs are outstanding on May 30, 2008. No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008. Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities.
All: There will be a welcome home thanksgiving Mass for Billy Bludgus who was an International volunteer for almost three years in Tanzania. Mass will be at Our Lady Star of the Sea this Sunday at 12 Noon. Reception will follow. All are invited.
ID PICTURES: On Wednesday, sophomores and freshmen will be called down alphabetically to the Study Hall for ID pictures. Students will miss 10 or 15 minutes of class when called. Study Hall will be cancelled on that day.
SOPHOMORES & FRESHMEN ID’S: Sophomores and freshmen who are buying pictures on Wednesday are reminded to bring their envelopes and checks to the Study Hall when called down tomorrow.
SENIORS: Many of you still need to see Mrs. Martineau regarding your college application information. If you do not, no graduation invitations will be issued.
DANCE COMMITTEE: We will meet on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in M-311. Be there. We cannot do the dance without you.
DANCE: WOW! This Friday we will have a dance from 6:45 – 9:45 p.m. We will have a new DJ. Bring ID and $8.
ALL: Organizational meeting for all students interested in running for student council on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in H-201.
STUDENT COUNCIL: Student Council meeting on Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. for current members.
ICE HOCKEY: JV & Varsity Hockey pictures are in. Please see Coach Maione to pick up your pictures on Friday, May 2 between 2:15-2:45 p.m. in the Athletic Office.
ALL: Please read the Club photo schedule for yearbook. All club pictures will be taken on the Grand Street steps of Mulry/Hogan. In case of rain, report to Ms. Stark’s room, H-203. Moderators are welcome to be in the pictures, but not mandatory. If your club cannot make the specified time, as a group you can come to any of the other photo sessions.
SOPHOMORES: Group meets today at 5B lunch in Fr. Mullin’s office.
ALL: Tennis will be making up it’s rained out match against Lincoln today at 4:00 p.m.
FORENSICS: Meeting on Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in Mr. Keating’s room, H-201. All members should attend.
SENIORS: Group newspaper photos – Today: Students from Jersey City, Bayonne, Hoboken, Union City, West New York, North Bergen, Weehawken. Please meet in the library at the start of period 5A. Wednesday: Belleville, Bloomfield, Glen Ridge, Clifton, Nutley, Passaic, Totowa, Little Falls.
MS. KNITTEL’S LATIN 2 STUDENTS: There will be a review for Wednesday’s test after school today from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Brass Students: Remember lessons today with Mr. Ferrone.
Seniors: Anyone senior or group of seniors interested in presenting something humorous and in good taste at the Senior-Faculty Dinner needs to see Mr. Grusenski today. Bring your best.
All: The Foreign Film Society is ecstatic in announcing its first screening, the Francois Truffaut classic Jules and Jim, Wednesday, April 30 at 3 PM. All seniors looking to kill time before the faculty senior dinner are welcome to enjoy this French New Wave staple.
Eligibility: The first eligibility cycle ended Monday. Completed forms for EC 2 must be submitted to Mr. Reidy to renew eligibility.
All: Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 National Italian Examination Contest: Both James Kuklinski ‘10 and Sebastian Garcia ‘09 received 3rd place in the nation in Levels I and II, respectively and they will each be awarded $100.00 from the American Association of Teachers of Italian. The following students received “National Honorable Mention”: Gabriel Kitamura ’10 who placed 8th, James Murduca ‘09 who placed 7th, Louis DiPaola ’08 who placed 8th, in Levels I, II, and III respectively. The Italian National Honor Society, Società Onoraria Italica has contributed $1,200 to award to 12 seniors who participated in the exam and our Louis DiPaola is one of the lucky recipients of the $100.00 scholarship. Grazie to all students of Italian for your participation!
JUNIORS: Ms. Rubinstein's Group Guidance will NOT meet. I will be in the office to see you if you have questions during the period. Please use this time to complete any work that was due.
