ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30, 2008 – “B” DAY
JUG -- No senior can participate in the graduation ceremony if any JUGs are outstanding on May 30, 2008. No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008. Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities.
All: There will be a welcome home thanksgiving Mass for Billy Bludgus who was an International volunteer for almost three years in Tanzania. Mass will be at Our Lady Star of the Sea this Sunday at 12 Noon. Reception will follow. All are invited.
ID PICTURES: Today, sophomores and freshmen will be called down alphabetically to the Study Hall for ID pictures. Students will miss 10 or 15 minutes of class when called. Study Hall will be cancelled on that day.
SOPHOMORES & FRESHMEN ID’S: Sophomores and freshmen who are buying pictures today are reminded to bring their envelopes and checks to the Study Hall when called down.
DANCE COMMITTEE: We will meet today at 3:00 p.m. in M-311. Be there. We cannot do the dance without you.
DANCE: WOW! This Friday we will have a dance from 6:45 – 9:45 p.m. We will have a new DJ. Bring ID and $8.
ALL: Organizational meeting for all students interested in running for student council today at 3:00 p.m. in H-201.
ICE HOCKEY: JV & Varsity Hockey pictures are in. Please see Coach Maione to pick up your pictures on Friday between 2:15-2:45 p.m. in the Athletic Office.
ALL: Please read the Club photo schedule for yearbook. All club pictures will be taken on the Grand Street steps of Mulry/Hogan. In case of rain, report to Ms. Stark’s room, H-203. Moderators are welcome to be in the pictures, but not mandatory. If your club cannot make the specified time, as a group you can come to any of the other photo sessions.
FORENSICS: The Forensic Team will meet on Thursday (not Wednesday) in H-201 at 3:00 p.m.
SENIORS: Group newspaper photos – Today: Students from Jersey City, Bayonne, Hoboken, Union City, West New York, North Bergen, Weehawken. Please meet in the library at the start of period 5A.
All: The Foreign Film Society is ecstatic in announcing its first screening, the Francois Truffaut classic Jules and Jim, today at 3:00 p.m. All seniors looking to kill time before the faculty senior dinner are welcome to enjoy this French New Wave staple.
All: Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 National Italian Examination Contest: Both James Kuklinski ‘10 and Sebastian Garcia ‘09 received 3rd place in the nation in Levels I and II, respectively and they will each be awarded $100.00 from the American Association of Teachers of Italian. The following students received “National Honorable Mention”: Gabriel Kitamura ’10 who placed 8th, James Murduca ‘09 who placed 7th, Louis DiPaola ’08 who placed 8th, in Levels I, II, and III respectively. The Italian National Honor Society, Società Onoraria Italica has contributed $1,200 to award to 12 seniors who participated in the exam and our Louis DiPaola is one of the lucky recipients of the $100.00 scholarship. Grazie to all students of Italian for your participation!

ALL: Tickets for Footloose will be on sale from Friday, May 2 forward. The price for the tickets is $7 for Prep students, $10 for everyone else. Seats are reserved seats so get your tickets early. Performances are May 9, 10, 16 & 17 at 8:00 p.m. at Saint Peter’s College.
Italian Club: There will be a brief meeting on Thursday, May 1st at 3 pm in E306. All members must attend.
Juniors going to New Orleans: Payment for the New Orleans trip must be handed in to Mr. Sekel by Monday, May 5.
CONCERT AND JAZZ BAND: All concert and jazz band members should report to the band room, Friday morning at 8:05 am for group picture. This includes FRESHMEN MEMBERS.
MR. FLETCHER’S 7TH PER REL 1 CLASS: Will not meet. ASSIGNMENT: Read Joshua 1-10. Take notes in your notebook that may be used on a quiz next time class meets; and make a list of “heaps” (a collection of things throw one on another: pile) found in the reading. List will be collected.
MR. WILLIAMS’ 7TH PER GEOMETRY: Will not meet. ASSIGNMENT: Read
pp. 719-722, and do problems 10-18 (all) on page 723.
STUDY HALLS CANCELLED: There will be no study halls today because of ID picture taking in study hall room.
