ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, MAY 7, 2008 – “A” DAY

JUG -- No senior can participate in the graduation ceremony if any JUGs are outstanding on May 30, 2008.  No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008.  Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities. 

Freshmen:  You're needed for Saturday, May 17th Academic Bowl at Chatham High School.  Special freshmen only division.  See Ms. Panzera in B-313.

 

ALL:  Win a Wii:  Academic Bowl team is raffling a Wii with sports package.  $5 for one chance and $10 for 3 chances. See Ms. Panzera in B313.

 

Academic Bowl:  Practices this Thursday, and Friday.  New members welcome. See Ms. Panzera if you are interested in attending academic bowl camp this summer. 

 

ALL: History Club Cinema presents, “Letters from Iwo Jima”, by Clint Eastwood. Thursday, May 8 at 3:00 p.m. in H-301. 

 

ALL:  Tickets for Footloose are on sale with Mrs. Locricchio in room, S-231.  The price for the tickets is $7 for Prep students, $10 for everyone else.  Seats are reserved seats so get your tickets early.  Performances are May 9, 10, 16 & 17 at 8:00 p.m. at Saint Peter’s College.

 

CAMPUS SHOP:  Remember Mother’s Day is Sunday, Mary 11th.  Great gifts for Mom – Prep Mom t-shirt, sweatshirts, mom mugs.

 

SOPHOMORES:  If you are going on an immersion trip, please pick up an information packet from H-302A.

 

Freshmen: Students participating in Freshmen Christian Service at PS#4, PS#16 and Our Lady of Czestochowa should report to their designated service sites.

 

REIFEN! CLUB: Pigs do indeed fly! Come take part in Prep’s favorite before the Arrupe lecture today. Start at 3:30 in Mr. G’s room. All are invited.

 

ANIME & VIDEO GAMES CLUBS: Club meetings are cancelled this week & next.

 

ALL: there are no study halls for today and the rest of the week because the room will be used for advanced placement testing.

 

ALL: Tonight’s Arrupe Lecture begins at 6 p.m. in St. Peter’s Church.  Marc Morial, president of the National Urban League, will speak on “Reflections on Race: Where We Stand in 2008.”  All are welcome.  Tickets are not needed.  Students are encouraged to attend a showing of the film CRASH at 3 p.m. and a discussion on the film in the library.  Free popcorn and soda will be served.

 

JUNIORS:  Applications for Big Brother, Emmaus Leader, and Eucharistic Minister are available in Mr. Heffernan’s office (M-306).  They are due on Monday, May 12.  Those applying for Big Brother and/or Emmaus Leader must schedule an in-person interview with Mr. Heffernan.  The sign-up sheet is posted on the whiteboard in his office.

 

AFTER PREP: There will be no meetings today or tomorrow. After Prep begins again on Monday 5/12.

 

Band Members:  After school today is a required rehearsal for all under class band members - seniors are exempt from the rehearsal.

 

Brass Students:  Remember lessons today with Mr. Ferrone.

 

Percussion Students:  Lessons this week will be held on Friday instead of Wednesday.

MS. GARCIA’S PER 1, 2, AND 4:  Your assignment is to work on your projects in the Library today.  You must sign in at the circulation desk or you will receive JUG for a class cut.

 

STAR WARS CLUB:  Join the Star Wars Club for Turkish Star Wars at 3:00 p.m. in E-205 on Thursday.  This will be our final event this year.

 

SOPHOMORES:  Group meets today during lunch 5B in Fr. Mullin’s office.

 

MARAUDER NATION:  Marauder Nation meets today in E-402 – seniors excused.
