ANNOUNCEMENTS – THURSDAY, MAY 15, 2008 – “A” DAY – EXTENDED HOMEROOM SCHEDULE

 

EXTENDED HOMEROOM/STUDENT COUNCIL CANDIDATES:  Today will be an Extended Homeroom for student council candidate presentations.  Candidates for president only will give a one minute statement of candidacy.  Juniors will report to the gym; sophomores to the cafeteria and freshmen to the church for homeroom.

 

Seniors:  The Senior BBQ is tomorrow, Friday starting 4th Period.  In order to make it a success money needs to be raised for food, soda, etc. or you may donate a dish.  Please make donations in homeroom today or see Brendan Bryant or Mr. Grusenski.

 

GRADUATION TICKETS:  Graduation tickets are available in the principal’s office during recess, both lunch periods and after school.  Thank you.

 

LOST & FOUND:  Please check to see if any items belong to you!  The Lost & Found will be “flushed” on Friday, May 16th.  FYI: Lost & Found is located in the Attendance Office with Mrs. Finn.

 

JUG -- No senior can participate in the graduation ceremony if any JUGs are outstanding on May 30, 2008.  No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008.  Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities. 

Freshmen:  You're needed for Saturday, May 17th Academic Bowl at Chatham High School.  Special freshmen only division.  See Ms. Panzera in B-313.

 

ALL:  Win a Wii:  Academic Bowl team is raffling a Wii with sports package.  $5 for one chance and $10 for 3 chances. See Ms. Panzera in B-313.

 

ALL:  Tickets for Footloose are on sale with Mrs. Locricchio in S-231.  The price for the tickets is $7 for Prep students, $10 for everyone else.  Seats are reserved seats so get your tickets early.  Performances are this weekend May 16 & 17 at 8:00 p.m. at Saint Peter’s College.

 

ALL:  All students must return library books by May 20.

 

SENIORS:  If you do not see Mrs. Martineau regarding your college decisions, you will not receive your graduation or prom invitations.

 

ALL: $50 for ˝ day of work after school. If you are interested in working on primary day, June 3rd, for Frank Lautenberg in Bayonne and Hoboken, either call (201)-443-2211 or find one of our representatives after school and sign up.

 

ALL:  If any guitarist, bassist, drummer or brass & woodwind player is interested in this summer's 8th Annual Jazz Workshop, See Mr. Caslowitz for a brochure. In addition to plenty of playing time, the workshop has guest artists visit for master classes and the group will be attending at least one live performance during the two week session.

 

SENIORS:  Any senior who is exempt from an exam or who has a project in lieu of an exam should return his textbook to the appropriate teacher or to Mr. Peters by Friday.

 

CHRISTIAN SERVICE:  Freshmen:  Reflection class today at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel.

 

SENIORS:  Our “Farewell to the Class of 2008” movie will be shown in the Study Hall today during 5A.  All are invited to attend.

 

Italian Club:  A reminder to all who plan to attend the last excursion of the year into the city for Gelato Giovedě, to please have your permission slips signed and turned in before today’s departure at 3 p.m. 

 

Band Members:  There is a required rehearsal after school today for all under class members of the band. Prior to the rehearsal, beginning at 2:45 we will complete the nomination process for next year's band officers. Band members who are on spring sports teams are requested to attend the nomination process.

 

ALL STUDENTS:  Bus to volleyball game on Friday at NJCU.  Sign up today by 2:30 in the principal’s office.  We need 45 students to get the bus.

 

CLC:  last meeting of this year is on Friday at 7:30 a.m. in the chapel.  Reflection to follow.

 

STUDY HALLS will meet today: There will be regular A-day study halls today.

 

SENIORS:  If you have an exam conflict (two exams at the same time slot), see Mr. Reidy today to resolve the conflict.   

 

JUINORS: Ms. Rubinstein's Group Guidance Classes WILL meet at the regular time. Plans for the end of year celebration will be discussed.

 

New Orleans:  Juniors going to New Orleans should pick up an information packet and permission slips from Mr. Sekel today.

 

MR. KOSZYK’S ENGLISH CLASSES:  Period 6 will meet today.

 

ALL STUDENTS:  Joy Food will meet today during 5B in the Shalloe Parlor. All are welcome.
