ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, MAY 21, 2008 – “E” DAY

 

LITURGICAL CHOIR: Will meet today and Thursday after-school with Mr. Harrold.  Preparations are underway for the Baccalaureate Mass on Saturday, May 31.

 

GRADUATION TICKETS:  Seniors - you need to pick up your graduation tickets!  Requests for the extra tickets are now available in the main office.  Thank you.

 

JUG -- No senior can participate in the graduation ceremony if any JUGs are outstanding on May 30, 2008.  No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008.  Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities. 

ALL:  If any guitarist, bassist, drummer or brass & woodwind player is interested in this summer's 8th Annual Jazz Workshop, See Mr. Caslowitz for a brochure. In addition to plenty of playing time, the workshop has guest artists visit for master classes and the group will be attending at least one live performance during the two week session.

 

Sophomores: Students must attend the Junior Service Site Orientation on Thursday, at 3:00 in Saint Peter’s Church.  Any hours done without attending the orientation will not count towards their 60 hour requirement. 

 

New Orleans Trip: Meeting today at 3:00 in the chapel.  We will go over the schedule for the trip.

 

ALL:  A reminder to the students who have been praying the "multi-lingual Rosary" during this month of May: we will conclude this week (Tuesday and Thursday at 7:45 a.m. in the Chapel.).  Many thanks to those (students and faculty) who have come to pray together in our different foreign languages.  ~Ms. Romano

 

PICTURES:  Freshmen and sophomores who ordered pictures from Davis Studio may pick them up in the principal’s office.

 

ENGINEERING CLUB:  Engineering Club will have its final meeting of the year today.  Pizza and refreshments will be provided.

 

SENIOR LOCKS:  Senior locks should be returned to Mrs. Finn in the attendance office or to Mr. Collins.  A $5 fee is charged for lost locks.  Locks must be returned before graduation rehearsal.

 

FRESHMAN:  We are having a picnic for the freshman class on Tuesday, June 3rd at 11:00 a.m. immediately following the last exam at JFK field.  Hotdogs, hamburgers and soda will be provided.  Bring your yearbook to be signed by fellow classmates and teachers.  Bring a football, Frisbee, soccer ball, etc. to play with on the field.  A great way to wrap up your first year of high school.

 

Freshmen: Final Christian Service reflection will be held Thursday, at 3:40 in the chapel.

 

SENIORS:  Graduating seniors whose father and/or grandfather also graduated from Prep should see Mr. Jiran in S-309 this week.

 

If you want your prom invitation, please see Mrs. Martineau this week.  I also have directions to the Manor for anyone who needs them.

 

BASKETBALL PLAYERS:  There will be a summer organizational meeting for all boys’ basketball players on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. in the gym.  Be on time.

 

LOCKERS – UNDERCLASSMEN:  All lockers are to be emptied by the last day of exams.  Locks are to be taken home and used again in September.

 

Academic Bowl:  Final meeting Thursday 3 p.m. in B-313. Seniors who competed in one or meets this year are invited to join us.  Plans for summer assignments, academic bowl camp, etc. and pizza party. Please send Ms. P an email at SPP to say that you plan to attend so that we have the proper count for refreshments. 

 

ALL: If you wear size 13 ½ sneakers, see Mr. Irvine; he has two new pairs he is looking to give away.

 

HAP TUTORS:  All HAP tutors are reminded that the HAP exam is this Saturday at 9:30.  Tutors should arrive (dressed neatly) by 8:30.

 

STUDY HALLS: will meet as usual.       

 

ROOM CHANGES TODAY:  Dr. Kennedy’s period 1 class moves to E-204; Mr. McCarthy’s period 1 class moves to H-105.

 

WILLIAM PATERSON POETRY COMPETITION:  All those competing in tomorrow’s contest are to meet in Mr. G’s room (library) after 8th period today.

 

MARAUDER NATION:  We will meet after school on Thursday in E-402.
