ANNOUNCEMENTS – THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2008 – DAY 3 OF EXAMS

 

JUG:  No underclassman can return to Prep next year if JUG is owed on June 3, 2008.  Gentlemen, please take care of your responsibilities. 

ALL:  If any guitarist, bassist, drummer or brass & woodwind player is interested in this summer's 8th Annual Jazz Workshop, See Mr. Caslowitz for a brochure. In addition to plenty of playing time, the workshop has guest artists visit for master classes and the group will be attending at least one live performance during the two week session.

 

FRESHMAN:  We are having a picnic for the freshman class on Tuesday, June 3rd at 11:00 a.m. immediately following the last exam at JFK field.  Hotdogs, hamburgers and soda will be provided.  Bring your yearbook to be signed by fellow classmates and teachers.  Bring a football, Frisbee, soccer ball, etc. to play with on the field.  A great way to wrap up your first year of high school.

 

LOCKERS – UNDERCLASSMEN:  All lockers are to be emptied by the last day of exams.  Locks are to be taken home and used again in September.

 

New Day Weekend Trip: Please return the permission slips to Mr. Sekel by today.   

 

Sophomores: Any student who has not picked up a Christian Service Reflection Journal must see Mr. Sekel during exam week.

 

SUMMER READING BOOKS:  Summer reading books (a limited supply) are available in the campus shop.  This applies to all English 1, 2, 3, and English 3 Honors.

 

MR. MUIR’S LATIN STUDENTS: Don’t forget to bring your orange Latin text books to the exam room for collection today! 

 

ACADEMIC BOWL CAMP:  Interested students see Ms. Panzera for registration and health forms, list of courses, list of things to bring, etc.  Registration due by Friday, May 30, 2008 in B-313.

 

Wii WRAFFLE:  Last call for chances!  See Ms. Panzera in B-313 before 8:10 a.m. and/or after 11:15 a.m. today.  Drawing will take placement Friday morning and winner will be listed on main bulletin board in Mulry and message sent to Prep e-mail address of the winner and also published in Monday 6/2 announcements.

 

ALL: Ms. Annetta will hold a Biology session today from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

 

SOPHOMORES: You will be buying your summer reading book for Religion next Monday in your Religion exam room. Bring $15 cash or check.

 

ALL; Mr. Lagerstrom’s chem. Review will be today at 11:30 in B-316.

 

ALL: Students of AP Chemistry next year meet with Mr. Lagerstrom on Friday, May 30, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. in B-316 for summer assignment.

 

All Band Members - Remember the required full rehearsal Friday at 12:00 p.m.  There will be pizza prior to the rehearsal.

 

Music Synthesis Students - If you have not finished your project, Mr. Caslowitz will have the Mulry Computer Lab open following today's exams.

 

LAX:  Varsity players who did not return equipment will do so today after the exam at 11:00 a.m. in the locker room.

 

HAP Tutors:  The updated list of HAP tutors is on the bulletin board outside Mr. Irvine’s office and on the door to the Freshman for a Day room.  If you did not come to the exam and did not see Mr. Irvine ahead of time, you are no longer on the list.

 

All:  Congratulations to The Continued Dynasty, winners of the 2008 Wiffle Ball World Series.

 

JV Lacrosse:  All players must return their equipment today.  Mr. Lyons will be in the office following the end of your exams.  All jerseys, practice equipment, shorts, and helmets must be returned at this time.  If you can not return your equipment today, you MUST make other arrangements with Mr. Lyons.

 

All Soccer Players:  There will be a brief meeting with Coach Jantas on Monday at 11:15 in H-201.  Anyone who did not play this year, but would like to try out in August should attend as well.

 

JUG Work:  On Friday, May 30, after the morning exam, students MUST sign up by today with Mr. Morris.  Will satisfy up to 3 JUGs.

 

JUNIORS & SOPHOMORES: Planning on taking the SAT in the fall?  Students interested in a preparation course that will begin in August should contact Mr. Morris ASAP.
