ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2008 – “G” DAY – LATE START ORDER
All Freshmen: If you would like to be a Freshman Ambassador this year, you must attend one of the following meetings – Friday during lunch in the gym or Friday at 3:00 in the cafeteria.
ALL STUDENTS--JUG begins today. No student may attend JUG if he does not have his Student Handbook with him. A JUG list will be posted outside of the Deans' office and in the Main Lobby each day. Failure to serve JUG on the day it is owed will result in a JUG CUT. Please refer to the Handbook for more information.
ABSENT NOTES--Students are reminded that an official absent note is due upon return to school after an absence. Failure to do so results in JUG. Official absent notes may be downloaded from the school website or picked up in the Attendance Office.
Hockey: There will be a brief, but mandatory meeting for any student interested in playing hockey this year on Thursday at 3:00 pm in the gym. Important information will be distributed regarding the upcoming season. All players are expected to be there.
ALL: Medical Club will be having its first meting of the year on Thursday at 3 pm in H-312. Let’s get all the planning started early guys, for all members and new members, come and check out what’s in store for this year’s Medical Club. See You Thursday.
SOPHOMORES, JUNIORS & SENIORS: If you did not receive books at the book sale, please come to the book store to pick them up.
ALL STUDENTS: LOST AND FOUND will now be located in the “Receptionist” area of the school. It will no longer be in the “Attendance Office”. Thank you.
Computer Club: There will be an organizational meeting on Thursday at 3:00 pm in the Link Lab.
KAIROS LEADERS: We will meet today at 3:00 pm.
BASEBALL: Frosh baseball candidates are asked to meet with Coach Urbanovich in B-218 at 3:00 pm today.
CAMPUS SHOP: “GOT JUG?” t-shirts are $15.
INDO-PAK SOCIETY: There will be an organizational meeting on Thursday at 3:00 pm in Mr. Keating’s room (H-201). All new members are welcome.
FANTASY FOOTBALL DRAFT: There will be a meeting today at 3:00 pm in Mr. Evans’ room (E-202) to designate a draft date and time. Anyone not registered yet may attend. Cost is $2 and all prize money will be given to the winner’s homeroom mission drive efforts.
SENIORS: The College Placement Department will be holding a COMMON APPLICTION WORKSHOP today in Ms. Glazer’s room, during lunch (11:30-12:00). If you have questions or need any help, please attend. You CANNOT bring FOOD OR DRINK into the room. Please see your Guidance Counselor if you have any questions.
GODZILLA AND STAR WARS CLUB: There will be an organizational meeting of the Godzilla and Star Wars Club on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 3:00 pm in B-214. All new and returning members are welcome.
FRENCH CLUB: Meeting for new and returning members on Thursday at 3:00 pm in e-301. We will vote for officers. You must be present to be elected. See Mr. G with questions.
Beginning Instrumental Lessons: There is a brief required meeting today at 2:40 sharp for students who have been scheduled for Beginning Instrumental Lessons. Sophomores: Anyone interested in applying for the weekend service immersion trips should check their Prep email for the link to the online application. Applications must be submitted by September 24, 2008.
YEARBOOK: If anyone is interested in becoming a staff writer or photographer for the 2009 Petrean, please come to a meeting on Tuesday, 9/23, in e0402 at 3:05 pm.
Brownies for Donations: The culinary club is collecting donations today and tomorrow for the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. The homeroom with the highest donation will be treated to brownies baked by the culinary club. Please be generous.
ALL: If you do not have a school lock on your locker, any other lock will be removed this week and a school lock will be provided. You will be charged $5 for the combination. See Mr. Healy 8th period by E-307 to purchase locks.
VIDEO GAME CLUB: We will have an organizational meeting at 3:00 pm in Shalloe room 234 on Thursday.
GERMAN CLUB: The German Club is sponsoring a trip to the Museum of Biblical Art on Thursday. Meet in Mr. Grusenski’s room, M-207, at 3:15 pm. We are expected to return before 5:00 pm.
FORENSICS: Our Forensics (Speech & Debate) team will meet on Friday at 3:00 pm in M-207 (Mr. Grusenski’s room). New members welcome. Returning members, bring a friend.
Italian Club: Our first organizational meeting will take place on Thursday, Sept. 18 at 3 pm in E-306. We will be electing a junior president and discussing the upcoming events for October - Italian Cultural Month. All current and new members are welcome.
