ANNOUNCEMENTS – FRIDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2008 - “C” DAY
ALL STUDENTS: Please be advised that we will move to regular dress code on Tuesday, October 14. Please consult you Student Handbook for dress code details.
Juniors: Would you like to be on the junior prom committee? We need two reps for each homeroom. If so, please see Mrs. Martineau ASAP!!
Lacrosse: Mandatory meeting for anyone who wants to play Lacrosse at 3:00 pm in the gym today.
Freshmen: Baseball Club will meet next week, Wednesday, October 15, at 1:00 pm to celebrate World Series with film, games, and hot dogs. There will be more information to follow.
MRS. GLAZER’S VISUAL BASIC CLASSES: There will be a test today. Please bring pencils to class for Scantron use.
GERMAN CLUB: All interested in running for a position on the German Club Council must submit a letter of intent to Mr. G (M-207) today. There will be a club meeting will be on Monday at 3:00 pm.
PROGRESS REPORTS: Progress reports for the first marking period were mailed home on Monday. Students should discuss their progress reports with their parents or guardians and return the signed yellow copy to homeroom NO LATER THAN TODAY.
ALL: Sign up in the main office for a bus to tonight’s football game. Tailgate to start in courtyard at 4:00 pm. Bus leaves at 6:00. Game time is 7:00 pm.
Academic Bowl: Meet today in B-313 from 3:05 until 5:00 pm. Selection for team to compete at Princeton on 10/18/08 is under way.
NHS: Induction has been postponed – it will not be tonight as originally listed on the Prep calendar. Reminder: The applications are due today. Please return to Ms. Panzera in B-313.
ALL: For the month of October – if you are free at 12 Noon on Wednesday’s please join us in the chapel to pray the rosary.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: Meeting today after 7th period in the chapel.
MODEL UN MEETING: We will meet on Tuesday, 10/14, at 3:00 pm in B-216.
MARAUDER NATION: Marauder Nation t-shirts are now available in the campus shop.
FRENCH CLUB: We will meet on Tuesday, October 14, at 3:00 pm in E-301. We will be screening a film about a girl who must find her place in society and religion. All are welcome to attend. See senior, Bill Foley with any questions.
ALL: Breaking Barriers is holding their first meeting for members next Thursday October 16th at 3pm in the library. For more information speak to officers Andrew Rader, Oscar Contreras, Joe Borsellino or Rashad Davis. Breaking Barriers goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment for ALL students.
All Band Members: Because tonight's varsity game has been moved to Union City, remember that we will not be performing. See Mr. Caslowitz with any questions.
INDO-PAK: Thank you to all those who came to watch the film, Outsourced, yesterday. Stay tuned for another event. A great time was had by all.
NHS: NHS applications were due yesterday. See Ms. Panzera in b-313 if you have any questions. List of accepted members will be posted in the Main Lobby on Tuesday, October 14th. Induction will take place on Wednesday, October 29th at 6:30 pm in Saint Peter’s Church. Reception to follow in the cafeteria. First NHS meeting will take place on Monday, October 20th at 8th period in b-313 to select officers. Information about running for office will be available in the Main Office starting on Tuesday, October 14th. Nominations will close on Friday, October 17th.
ACADEMIC BOWL: Meets Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in B-313. First competition is at Princeton on Saturday, October 18th.
CELTIC CLUB: The Celtic Club is looking for soccer players who wish to participate in Copa del Prep. We are also collecting money for t-shirts. The cost is $10. Money and Copa del Prep sign-ups should see Ms. McElroy in E-204.
HISTORY CINEMA: History Cinema presents Alfred Hitchcock’s, Foreign Correspondent, a story of WWII, Thursday, 10/16, at 3:00 pm in b-216.
WALKATHON, OCTOBER 24: Remember to bring in your Walkathon envelopes with our name on it. $80 joins the walk and carnival and $100 gets electronics gear raffle entry and a week of dress down. One hundred percent at $100 gets a homeroom an extra week of dress down. WALK THE WALK, SON!
STUDENT COUNCIL: The regular meeting of the Student Council will be Tuesday, October 14 at 7:45 am in H-201, Mr. Keating’s room.
MR. KEATING’S HISTORY EXTRA CREDIT: Students interested in the extra credit project of reading biographies of the two major candidates should come for a five-minute sign up meeting at 2:30 in H-201.
FRESHMEN: Mr. Lyons’ second period Study Hall in e-301 is cancelled today.
Stock Market Club for freshman and sophomores will meet Tuesday 10/14, after school in the Link Lab
The Computer Club will meet Thursday 10/16 after school in the Link Lab.
All: The Forensics Teams is competing this weekend
in its first tournament of the year at Union Catholic on Saturday. Please
wish them luck! Those traveling with Mr. Grusenski are to meet at Prep at
7:15am.
