ANNOUNCEMENTS – THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2009 – “D” DAY

 

PAX CHRISTI:  Pax Christi will meet today at 3:15 pm in the Campus Ministry Lounge.

 

RUGBYThere will be a brief meeting for any returning rugby players interested in playing 7s in the November tournament today at 3:00 pm in E-404.

 

BREAKING BARRIERS:  Breaking Barrier’s is back – come to our first meeting today in B-215 at 3:00 pm.  ‘No matter what creed, color, gender, orientation, nation or economic class we come from, we connected by one simple undeniable truth: we are all God’s Children’ Join the fight for respect in our school.  See Ms. Bleasdale or Mr. Roldan for more information

 

BOOKS:  Any books to be returned or picked up must be done by Friday.  Mr. H will be returning all books to the publishers at that time.

 

To Freshman Ambassadors:  Please be sure to check the list in the main lobby to see if you are scheduled for a freshman for a Day.

 

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS:  Student volunteers are needed for the Open House on Sunday, October 4.  There is a sign-up sheet in the principal’s office.  If you will be there in any capacity, please sign up so a nametag can be printed.

 

All Students:  If you would like to become a more impassioned speaker OR if you would like to practice winning a debate, you should consider joining the Forensics Team.  Meeting for all interested in speech and debate today in E-303 at 3:00 pm.

Italian Club:  There will be a very important meeting today at 3:00 pm in E -306 to elect officers and to discuss our events for October - Italian Heritage Month.  Old and new members are welcome.

 

STUDENT COUNCIL:  Student Council forums will take place today, and Friday this week in the Shalloe Parlor.  Senior forum will be Wednesday, juniors on Thursday, and sophomores on Friday.  Everyone is encouraged to attend to bring up any issues to their student council representatives.

 

Seniors: Univ. of Scranton will be here for on-site interviews next Tuesday, 9/29.   If you would like an interview, see Mrs. Martineau by Friday.  You cannot have an interview without an appointment. 

 

SENIORS:  I need three or four volunteers to help the College Placement Staff with the College Night on Tuesday, 9/29.  You only need to be available from 5:45 until 7:00 pm.  You would still be able to visit any of the colleges you are interested in that evening.  Please see Mrs. Martineau if you would like to help out!!

 

CAMPUS MINISTRY TEAM:  Please check your e-mail for CLC meeting times; also, pick up your Six Flags permission slips in the Campus Ministry office if you are attending on Sunday.

 

ALL FRESHMEN:  Any freshman who would like to be an ambassador (and has not already met with Mr. Irvine) will have a final chance on Friday.  We will meet in gym at the start of your lunch period.

 

ALL STUDENTS:  Game-playing of any kind, whether on school computers or personal devices, is not permitted in the library at any time.  If observed doing so, you will receive JUG.

 

EBONY CLUB:  Meeting today in H-205 at 3:00 pm.  Mandatory for all returning members and new members are welcome.

 

JAZZ BAND AUDITIONS:   To those students who picked -up music last week, remember the rehearsal audition is today beginning at 3pm.

 

German Club:  Congrats to the newly elected officers, Matt Julian, Jon McCarthy, and Conor Kearns.  Stop by E303 sometime next week for calendar and permission slip to first event of the year. Next meeting is Tuesday, October 6th.

MR. HEFFERNAN'S CHRISTIAN SERVICE SEMINAR: Meets today in B-214 during 9th period.

 

PETREAN: Any students interested in contributing material to the yearbook; there will a meeting in E203 today at 3. Photographers/writers are needed.  Please see Mr. Vaznelis in E203 if you can not attend.
