ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2009 – “C” DAY

 

Seniors:  The Fairfield interviews are on Thursday, Nov. 12th.  You can see Mrs. Martineau for an appt. until Tuesday morning.

 

SECRET AGENT CLUB:  Secret Agent Club presents 007 in, ON HER MAJESTIES SECRET SERVICE, today at 3:00 pm in B216.

 

SWIM TEAM: Mandatory tryouts on Sunday afternoon at Saint Peter's College.  We will meet at 3:00 pm today to discuss exact details and provide last minute information.

 

FRESHMEN:  Any freshmen interested in being a freshman candidate for student council this year should come to a meeting in H-201, Mr. Keating’s room on Thursday at 3:00 pm.

 

VARSITY JACKETS:  One time only!  Measurements will be taken in the cafeteria during the lunch hours this Thursday only.  A $175 deposit will be required before the order will be placed, but there is no cost for measurement.  See Mr. Hollywood if you have any questions.

 

ICE HOCKEY:  Tryouts for JV & Varsity hockey will be held on Sunday, November 15 @ Pershing Field Ice Rink. The ice time is scheduled for 5:30-7:30pm; please arrive at 4:15pm.

 

ALL:  Anyone interested in hearing a talk by a Nigerian Jesuit writer Uwem Akpan today at Riverside Church in NYC (talk begins at 4:30), please sign in the principal’s office.  We will leave at 3:05 or see Fr. Azzarto.   Uwem Akpan, a Jesuit, will be on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

 

ALL STUDENTS:  There will be a meeting today to show a slideshow celebrating French Culture Week.  Refreshments will be provided.

 

CELTIC CLUB:  We will meet today in E-204.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. McElroy or senior, Kenan Moriarty.

 

Stock Market Club:  Will meet today at 3:00 in the Link Lab (H-305). 

 

ALL: All those interested in trying out for basketball must meet in the gym on Monday, November 16: freshmen at 3:00 pm and upperclassmen at 3:15 pm. 

 

MOCK TRIAL:  Any students interested in participating in mock trial competition please come to H-201 and see Mr. Keating.

 

Forensics Team:  Those competing this weekend need to pick up a permission slip from Mr. G before Thursday.

NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY MEMBERS:  There will be a meeting today at 2:40 pm in the Chem Lab, B-313, followed by a group picture.  Important pre-ceremony info.

 

ALL:  The library will close at 3:00 pm to prepare for the phonathon.

 

PERCUSSION STUDENTS:  This week lessons with Mr. Gleich will take place tomorrow, Thursday, during lunch.

 

Medical Club:  There is no meeting today. 

 

BOWLING:   All bowling candidates should have their completed paperwork to hand in to Coach Zawistowski in B314 after school today. If anyone else is interested in joining the Bowling team, you may sign up at this time. 

 

Italian Exchange:  A brief meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 12th at 3 pm in E306.  Please be sure to attend.

 

Italian Club:  Student passes are on sale for Italian Neorealism Film Day for Saturday, Nov 21st.  If you would like to attend the Walter Reade Theater, NYC,  for a full afternoon of Neorealism films such as Fellini's I Vitelloni and DeSica's Umberto D and enjoy a taste of authentic Italian food, please see Ms. Romano in E-306 ASAP.  

 

ADVANCED PHYSICS STUDENTS:  Bring your textbooks to class today!

 

PERIOD 6 ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE:  Class will not meet today.  Work on the assignment you received in class yesterday.
