ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 2009

 

ALL:  Welcome to our Italian Exchange students from the from our brother Jesuit high school in Palermo, Sicily.  Our guests will be with us for the next two weeks.  Thanks to all of our Prep student hosts and Ms. Romano and Mr. Coviello for organizing everything.

 

Today we will celebrate our annual Thanksgiving prayer service.  Following the prayer service, we will present academic honors for the first marking along with Prep Spirit Awards.

 

SOPHOMORE/FRESHMAN CHRISTMAS ’09 SEMI-FORMAL:  This year’s semi-formal will take place on Saturday evening, December 19th from 8:00 – 11:30 pm in the Prep cafeteria.  Reservations may be made with Mr. Dondero in M-212.  The cost is $60 per couple.  Space is limited so you need to get your deposit of $30 to Mr. Dondero ASAP.  The price includes a hot buffet dinner, DJ, unlimited soda, and ice-cream bar.

Secret Agent Club:  the Secret Agent Club presents The Spy Who Loved Me, Nobody Does It Better on Wednesday, December 2 at 3:00 pm in B-216.

 

VARSITY JACKETS:  Please check the list in Mulry lobby to make sure your name has been recorded with a deposit.  There are two students who paid without indicating their name.  Please see Mr. Hollywood.

 

CLASS RINGS:  Deposits due now for rings to be ordered.  Please come to the campus shop or see Mr. Hollywood.

 

STUDENT SURVIVOR:  Student Survivor Begins! The first matches will be Tuesday 12/1.  In the 5th period lunch Mr. Dandorph’s’ 1B will take on Mr. Dwyer’s 1C, while in the 6th period lunch, Mr. Canale’s 2B will take on Ms. Gomez’s 2D.  Matches take place in the Arrupe Conference Room (next to the Main office).  At the start of the designated lunch period. Latecomers will forfeit.  All participating homerooms should receive their copy of the schedule and rules.

 

ALL STUDENTS:  Mark your calendars for this year’s first PREP:  Amped UP show on Friday, December 4 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.  The Victory and Aviary will be headlining.  Any bands interested in performing should contact juniors, Graham Wyville and Rolf Mazo.

 

CHRISTIAN SERVICE:  Christian Service opportunity for freshmen, sophomores, and seniors. “Christmas Calls” is a chance for senior citizens to make long distance phone calls to relatives in other countries. December 6, 2009. If you’d like to participate as an escort to the senior citizens, please talk to Ms. Toomb by the end of the week. You can earn 4 to 8 Christian Service Hours.

 

HISTORY CLUB:  There will be a mandatory history club meeting for all members on Monday at 3:00 pm in B-216.  Final preparation/dress rehearsal for Student Survivor!  

 

MODEL UN:  Sign up for MINI-MODEL UN and get materials on Tuesday, December 1 at 3:00 pm in B-216.
