ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 2, 2009 – “C” DAY – ASSEMBLY ORDER

 

Science League:  There will be a general meeting of anyone who is interested in competing in the New Jersey Science League.  The meeting will be today at 3:00 pm in room 315.  If you cannot make the meeting, but would like to compete, please see Ms. Tursi, Mr. Canale, or Ms. Annetta.  

 

FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES:  The balance for the Christmas Semi-formal is due by Monday, December 7th to Mr. Dondero.

 

FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE CHRISTMAS ’09 SEMI-FORMAL:  This year’s semi-formal will take place on Saturday evening, December 19th from 8:00 – 11:30 pm in the Prep cafeteria.  Reservations may be made with Mr. Dondero in M-212.  The cost is $60 per couple.  Space is limited so you need to get your deposit of $30 to Mr. Dondero ASAP.  The price includes a hot buffet dinner, DJ, unlimited soda, and ice-cream bar.

 

Secret Agent Club:  the Secret Agent Club presents The Spy Who Loved Me, Nobody Does It Better today at 3:00 pm in B-216.

 

ALL STUDENTS:  Mark your calendars for this year’s first PREP:  Amped UP show on Friday, December 4 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.  The Victory and Aviary will be headlining.  Any bands interested in performing should contact juniors, Graham Wyville and Rolf Mazo.

ALL:  Look ahead:  Next Wednesday, December 9, at 6:00 pm, Chris Lowney, author of Heroic Living will give a talk and answer questions in the Café. All are invited.  The topic:  What does a 16th Century man have to say to us in a world so different? 

 

ATTENTION JUNIORS:  Any juniors, who are residents of Wood-Ridge or Moonachie, who may be interested in the American Legion Jersey Boys State 5-day summer program, please see Mr. Korfmacher in Mulry 211. The program offers a hands on training program that teaches the participant the duties, rights, privileges and responsibilities of American citizenship. This is accomplished through the organization and planning of political parties and platforms at the local, county and state levels of government.

CHRISTIAN SERVICE:  Christian Service opportunity for freshmen, sophomores, and seniors. “Christmas Calls” is a chance for senior citizens to make long distance phone calls to relatives in other countries. December 6, 2009. If you’d like to participate as an escort to the seniors, please talk to Ms. Toomb by the WEDNESDAY. You can earn 4 to 8 Christian Service Hours.

 

SENIORS:  There are about 14 spots remaining for Saint Peter’s College interviews next Monday.  Please see Mrs. Martineau by today if you want an interview appointment.

 

PAX CHRISTI:  Pax Christi will meet THIS THURSDAY at 3:00 pm in the Campus Ministry Lounge.

 

OFFICE CLUB:  The office club will meet today at 3:00 pm in E-304.

 

ALL SOCCER PLAYERS:  All-season strength and conditioning will begin next Tuesday, December 8, at 3:00 pm in the weight room.  All players who still have to return their uniforms should do so that day. 

 

ALL:  Get into the spirit of the season this Sunday at 2pm when the Concert Band, the Prep choir, Vox and the Jazz Band will host the annual Christmas Cafe concert in the Cafeteria. Bring your friends and families and enjoy the good music and food!

ANIME CLUB:  The Anime Club will meet on Friday, December 4, in B 215 at 3:00 pm.

 

EBONY CLUB:  There is a hip-hop musical Groovaloo in New York for five weeks only.  If you think you are interested in going, see Mr. Dondero or Mr. Smith by today.

PERCUSSION STUDENTS - Lessons this week with Mr. Gleich will be held tomorrow, Thursday during lunch.

 

CONCERT BAND MEMBERS - Remember to be on time for our late rehearsal today from 6 - 8pm.

 

STUDENT SURVIVOR:  Student Survivor!  In our opening matches homerooms 1B and 2B emerged victorious.  Thursday 12/3 Matches: Ms. Flores’1D vs. Dr. Hartling’s 1E and Ms. McMillan’s 2F vs. Mr. Nesheiwat’s 2G.  Matches in the Arrupe Conf. Room (next to the Main office) at the start lunch period. Latecomers will forfeit!

 

ADVENT PRAYER SERVICES: Will take place on Thursday and Friday in the Mulry Lobby, from 7:50 a.m. to 8:05 a.m. All are welcome!
