ANNOUNCEMENTS – THURSDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2009 – “D” DAY

ALL:  Information about auditions for the March production of “Anything Goes” at Mount Saint Dominic Academy (Caldwell) is posted on the bulletin board in the Mulry lobby.

PERCUSSION STUDENTS - Remember lessons today with Mr. Gleich during lunch.

JAZZ BAND MEMBERS - Please be on time for today's important rehearsal after school.

CONCERT BAND MEMBERS - Remember woodwind sectional rehearsal during lunch today.

ALL STUDENTS: Please be advised that the bathroom located in the basement weight room in the English building will be closed for repairs, beginning at 12:00 NOON on Thursday, December 3^rd.  Students may not enter the bathroom from that time until it is announced that the bathroom is available.

ALL STUDENTS:  JUG Detention will take place on Saturday, December 5^th, beginning at 9:00AM.  Detention roster is posted in Main Lobby and cafeteria bulletin boards.

FRESHMEN AND SOPHOMORES:  The balance for the Christmas Semi-formal is due by Monday, December 7^th to Mr. Dondero.

FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE CHRISTMAS ’09 SEMI-FORMAL:  This year’s semi-formal will take place on Saturday evening, December 19^th from 8:00 – 11:30 pm in the Prep cafeteria.  Reservations may be made with Mr. Dondero in M-212.  The cost is $60 per couple.  Space is limited so you need to get your deposit of $30 to Mr. Dondero ASAP.  The price includes a hot buffet dinner, DJ, unlimited soda, and ice-cream bar.

ALL STUDENTS:  Mark your calendars for this year’s first PREP:  Amped UP show on Friday, December 4 at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.  The Victory and Aviary will be headlining.  Any bands interested in performing should contact juniors, Graham Wyville and Rolf Mazo.

ALL:  Look ahead:  Next Wednesday, December 9, at 6:00 pm, Chris Lowney, author of Heroic Living will give a talk and answer questions in the Café. All are invited.  The topic:  What does a 16^th Century man have to say to us in a world so different? 

ATTENTION JUNIORS:  Any juniors, who are residents of Wood-Ridge or Moonachie, who may be interested in the American Legion Jersey Boys State 5-day summer program, please see Mr. Korfmacher in Mulry 211. The program offers a hands-on training program that teaches the participant the duties, rights, privileges and responsibilities of American citizenship. This is accomplished through the organization and planning of political parties and platforms at the local, county and state levels of government.

JV HOCKEY – SOPHS AND JUNIORS:  Meeting at lunch at 12:15 today.  Please bring lunch…Fr. Azzarto’s room.

Stock Market Club:  Meeting today at 3:00 pm in the Link Lab (H305).

SENIORS:  There are about 14 spots remaining for Saint Peter’s College interviews next Monday.  Please see Mrs. Martineau by today if you want an interview appointment.

PAX CHRISTI:  Pax Christi will meet today at 3:00 pm in the Campus Ministry Lounge.

ALL SOCCER PLAYERS:  All-season strength and conditioning will begin next Tuesday, December 8, at 3:00 pm in the weight room.  All players who still have to return their uniforms should do so that day. 

ALL:  Get into the spirit of the season this Sunday at 2:00 pm when the Concert Band, the Prep choir, Vox and the Jazz Band will host the annual Christmas Cafe concert in the Cafeteria. Bring your friends and families and enjoy the good music and food!

ANIME CLUB:  The Anime Club will meet on Friday, December 4, in B 215 at 3:00 pm.

VARSITY JACKETS:  Final list is on bulletin board.  Final deposits must be in by Friday.  See Mr. Hollywood.

JUNIORS:  Junior class ring money due ASAP.  See Mr. Hollywood.

All: Mass will be celebrated on Sunday at 12:30 in the chapel for all attending or connected to the Band Concert.

All: Transfer Students:  all.  Keep open meeting on Thursday, December 10 at 12:15 in H-103.  Pizza etc will be supplied. Please come on time. Seniors are asked to come.  Mr. Irvine will share with us.

All: Congratulations to freshman Nick Santa Maria for best baseball trade.  Roy Halladay to yanks for Phil Hughes and 2 top prospects.  Prize given.

STUDENT SURVIVOR:  Student Survivor!  In our opening matches homerooms 1B and 2B emerged victorious.  Today’s matches:  Ms. Flores’1D vs. Dr. Hartling’s 1E and Ms. McMillan’s 2F vs. Mr. Nesheiwat’s 2G.  Matches in the Arrupe Conf. Room (next to the Main office) at the start lunch period. Latecomers will forfeit!

ADVENT PRAYER SERVICES: Will take place today and Friday in the Mulry Lobby, from 7:50 a.m. to 8:05 a.m. All are welcome!

MR. HEFFERNAN'S CLC: group will not meet today.

KAIROS 8 Leader: will not meet today.

FRESHMEN:  Freshmen participating in the NY Knicks Service trip next Monday, December 7, will have a brief meeting during lunch on Thursday. Please come to the chapel at NOON on THURSDAY.

MR. DANDORPH’S 8^TH PERIOD GEOMETRY:  Class will not meet today.  Work on assignment previously given.

ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB:  Meeting on Wednesday, December 9^th in B-317 at 3:00 PM.  New members welcome.

AP VERGIL:  Class will not meet today.  Continue with current assignment.

SKI AND SNOWBOARDING:  The ski and snowboarding club will meet next Wednesday, 12/9, to organize and plan this year’s trips. New members are most welcome.

AMPED UP SHOW:  Tomorrow come to the Prep cafeteria at 6:30 pm for this year’s first Amped Up Show!  The victory, Aviary, Chris Manley, Conor Brennan and Tim Erbach will be playing.  Don’t miss the Open Mic and don’t forget to head over to the Prep hockey game right after Amped Up!
