ANNOUNCEMENTS – TUESDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2009 – “A” DAY – ASSEMBLY ORDER SCHEDULE

 

Student Survivor:  Today, 12/8: 1H vs. 4A & 3B vs. 3C. On Thurs. 12/10: 4B vs. 4G and 3D vs. 3J.  Matches in the Arrupe Conf. Room (next to the Main office) at the start lunch period. Latecomers will forfeit!

 

ALL:  Information about auditions for the March production of “Anything Goes” at Mount Saint Dominic Academy (Caldwell) is posted on the bulletin board in the Mulry lobby.

 

All:  Transfer students will meet this Thursday at 12:15 “C” Day in H103.  Lunch provided.  Please bring self.

 

Sophomore and Juniors:   Groups will meet with Fr. Azzarto will meet this Wednesday at 12:15 in his office. Bring lunch – soda, etc. provided.

 

All This Wednesday at 6:00 pm in the café author Chris Lowney will speak with us: What does a man like Ignatius of the 16th century say to us in the year 2009?  Talk and questions.  His two books will be on sale that day.

 

ALL:  For the past 3 years Paul Lempa, class of 88 has worked as an official TOPPS sport artist. He has been commissioned to paint likenesses of Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Eli Manning, etc. to appear on cards and posters.  He will show how young men can make a living in the art field. His work is featured in Beckett Baseball Magazine.  He Owns and operates his own creative design agency called REVEL STUDIOS… Come this Thursday at 4:00 pm in the library.

 

All:  Baseball Club will meet at 4:00 pm with Mr. Paul Lempa on Thursday in the library.

 

ALL SOCCER PLAYERS:  All-season strength and conditioning will begin today at 3:00 pm in the weight room.  All players who still have to return their uniforms should do so that day. 

 

JUNIORS:  Junior class ring deposits must be in this week for rings to be made for ring ceremony.  See Mr. Hollywood.

 

ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB:  Meeting on Wednesday in B-317 at 3:00 pm.  New members welcome.

 

SKI AND SNOWBOARDING:  The ski and snowboarding club will meet on Wednesday to organize and plan this year’s trips. New members are most welcome.

 

MOCK TRIAL TEAM:  Students still interested in being lawyers, witnesses and jurors in the NJ State Bar Foundation’s Trial competition come to H-201 on Wednesday at 3:00 pm.

 

Model UN: Sign up now for Seton Hall Model UN Conference today at 3:00 pm in B-216.  Also space/materials still available for next weeks Mini-Model UN

 

SECRET AGENT CLUB:  We will present For Your Eyes Only on Wednesday at 3:00 pm in B-216.

 

Juniors and Seniors: Looking for Christian Service opportunities? Talk to Ms. Toomb about regular tutoring with Team Walker, a group designed to create safe and healthy after school alternatives for Jersey City youth. Juniors, this is a great way to complete your 60 hours!

ALL STUDENTS:  Second Marking Period Progress Reports will be available on Thursday, December 10.

 

ALL:  Monday, December 7, was the mid-point of the second marking period.  Prep students and their parents will be able to view Progress Reports on PowerSchool beginning at 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 10.  Students, remember that your teachers are available in their classrooms or offices to work with you every day after school from 2:30 to 3:00. 

 

ALL:  The second marking period ends on January 15, 2010; first semester exams are scheduled for January 19 to 25.  See the School Calendar for information dates at Prep.

 

CONGRATULATIONS: To the Swim Team on its 113-57 win over Bergen Catholic yesterday.  The team is 2-0 this season and will swim again tomorrow at Red Bank Catholic.

 

STUDENTS RECEIVING FINANCIAL AID:  If you have not yet written a Christmas card please come to the church on Wednesday at 3:00 pm.  This is your last chance.

 

ALL:  There will be a meeting for the Society of Comedic Appreciation on Thursday at 3:00 pm in the Campus Ministry Lounge.

 

MR. HOLLYWOOD’S 8TH PERIOD ALGEBRA:  Mr. Hollywood’s 8th period Algebra class will meet instead during 5th period.  Get your lunch and bring it to class.
