     College Information Night for Junior Parents 7:30-9:00 PM

 

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 – “D” Day – Regular Order

Wednesday, March 17, 2010 – “E” Day – Regular Order

Thursday, March 18, 2010 – “F” Day – Regular Order – Junior Prom 7:00-11:00 PM

Friday, March 19, 2010 – “C” Day – Regular Order – MP3 ends – no classes for juniors

 

 

ALL:  As communicated last week through the daily announcements this Friday, March 19, will be a regular class day.   Classes will follow a C-Day schedule since two of our unscheduled days off were C-Days.  This will also be the last day of Marking Period 3.  Given the fact that the junior prom was originally scheduled for March 18 because the following day was free of classes, juniors will be excused from classes on Friday, March 19, which remains a regular class day for freshmen, sophomores and seniors.  Thank you for your patience and flexibility with these adjustments.

 

ALL:  Financial Aid applications for the 2010 - 2011 school year are currently available in the Financial Aid Office and the Finance Office.  The deadline is May 17th 2010.  Anyone interested in applying along with all work study students must pick up an application or apply online as soon as possible.

 

All Students:  Any student who failed two or more subjects at the end of Semester 1 is ineligible to participate in major co-curricular activities and or spring sports, unless he has obtained probationary eligibility for the remainder of the marking period.  Students who wish to secure probationary eligibility must see Ms. Durante for the necessary paperwork.

 

ALL:  Attention!  Ms. Stark’s HR will be holding a Madden NFL 10 tournament.  This tournament will take place today through Thursday, March 18 during 5th period lunch.  There will be food and snacks.  Player wins a prize, be there.

 

All:  NCAA Basketball Tournament Mission Drive on Yahoo!  Sign-ups this week through Wednesday in H-205 before or after school only.  See Mr. B. Healy for details.

 

ALL:  CONGRATULATIONS TO JAMES KEARNS and homeroom 3c, James won the women’s history trivia quiz yesterday and $50 for his homeroom, thanks to 1H 1D and 2A who also sent representatives.

 

ALL:  Next Monday March 22 there will be a faculty and staff opportunity……..in the cafeteria after school come along and raise money for the missions as you see who  can score the highest on our Women’s’ history trivia quiz . Encourage your teachers to participate!

All:  Baseball club will meet on Wednesday at 3:00 PM on Wednesday in B-220.

 

ALL:  Do you enjoy an intense game of Rock-Paper-Scissors? Come to E-203 to sign up for the Mission Drive Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament with Mr. Scannapieco this afternoon! Sign-ups will run until Wednesday, the bracket will come out on Thursday, and matches begin next week! Stay tuned."

 

ALL: If you are interested in a service opportunity with your whole family on Saturday, April 10, 2010, please talk to Ms. Toomb ASAP. Rebuilding Together: Jersey City is looking for volunteers to help rebuild and renovate a house for a Jersey City family in need.

 

ALL:  Gummibears:  How many Gummibears can you fit into an empty jar? Come take a guess and win the bears and the cash for your homeroom's mission drive total!  One guess per number, so guess early. $1 per guess.  Individual Gummibears sales also available, all in E303 (Mr. Grusenski).

 

SENIORS: Seniors who live in East Orange, Hoboken, Jersey City, Maplewood, North Bergen Secaucus and South Orange should report to the courtyard at the start of Period 5 today for newspaper photos.

 

SENIORS: Information regarding graduation photos for your local town newspapers was placed in homeroom folders. Photos will take place during lunch periods next week. Please consult the list to see when your town’s group picture will be taken. Re-shoots of group photos will not be possible, so please be sure to arrive on time. Complete the info sheet and return it to the principal’s office by next Friday, March 19.

 

SOPHOMORES: The Christian Service Fair will be held today at 2:30pm in the Cafeteria. Come learn about your options for immersion trips and agencies to complete your 60 hour Christian Service requirement for junior year.

 

MS. MCGOWAN’S STUDENTS:  AP Vergil and Latin I periods 2 and 3 will not meet today.  All other classes will meet.

 

BRASS STUDENTS:  Remember lessons today with Mr. Ferrone.

 

CONCERT BAND MEMBERS:  Be ready to begin rehearsal today by 3:05 and also remember brass sectional during lunch.

 

PAX CHRISTI: We will have a meeting this WEDNESDAY, March 17, at 3pm in the CHAPEL.

 

Mission Drive Mario Kart 64 Tournament:  Do you think that you are the best at Mario Kart 64?  Mr. Lyons thinks he is - see if you can prove him wrong.  Sign up for the mission drive Mario Kart tournament outside of B-317.  Tournament is scheduled for March 25th and 26th!  Any questions see Mr. Lyons or Senior Elliott Montalvan

HISTORY CLUB:  We will meet on Monday, 3/22 at 3:00 PM in B-216.

 

HISTORY BEE:   We will meet on Thursday, 3/25 at 3:00 PM in B216.  Who’s’ buried in Grant’s tomb? Enter Prep’s Annual American History Bee and Find Out!  $2 entry fee goes to winner’s homeroom in Mission Drive competition.

 

JV HOCKEY TEAM:  The JV hockey team will meet on Thursday during both lunch periods.
